A workshop that fits in a van. DROP ‘N’ FIX has been fixing cars on the Senegambia strip and the roads behind it since 2016 — a broken-down Toyota outside a hotel gate, a Hilux that won’t start in Bijilo, a Corolla overheating on the Bertil Harding Highway at nine at night. You call, we load up, we come.
No towing fee. No waiting room. No “leave it with us and we’ll see.” Most jobs are finished where the car sits.
Open every day, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Callouts answered until 10 PM.

The work we take on
Everything below is done at your place — home, office, hotel car park or the shoulder of the road. If a job genuinely needs a lift and a workshop bay, we say so on the phone before we drive out, and we tell you where to take it.

Tell us the car, the year, and where it is. A photo of the dashboard or the engine bay helps more than you’d think.

We quote on the phone
Callout fee and an estimate for the likely job. If we don’t know yet, we say we don’t know yet — and we don’t guess high to cover ourselves.

We come to the car
Senegambia, Bijilo, Kololi, Kotu, Bakau, Kanifing, Fajara, Brufut — usually within the hour. Further out, we’ll tell you the travel time honestly.

You pay when it runs
Cash or Wave. If the fault turns out to be something we can’t fix at the roadside, you pay the callout only and we point you to the right workshop.

Ten years of Gambian roads
DROP ‘N’ FIX started in 2016 with one second-hand van, a socket set and a habit of answering the phone at midnight. The first job was a Nissan Sunny that wouldn’t start outside a guesthouse in Kololi; the owner told two friends, and the two friends told four.
Ten years on, the van is newer and there are two of us, but the way it works hasn’t changed. We turn up when we say we will. We tell you what the fault actually is, in words that make sense, before we touch anything. And we don’t sell you a part you don’t need — in a town where everyone knows everyone, that’s the whole business.
Most of our work is the same handful of cars: Toyota Corolla and Camry, Nissan Sunny and Almera, Hyundai Accent, the occasional Hilux or Land Cruiser that’s been worked hard. We know them well enough to diagnose half of them over the phone.
On the van
What we carry every day
Half of a fast callout is having the right thing in the back. This is what’s in the van before we leave the yard.
- OBD-II scanner — reads and clears fault codes on anything from 2001 onward.
- Batteries — Bosch and Varta, the four sizes that fit most saloons and pickups.
- Brake pads & shoes — the common Corolla, Sunny and Accent fitments.
- Belts & hoses — fan belts, radiator hoses, clamps, coolant.
- Oil & filters — 10W-40 and 5W-30, plus air and oil filters.
- Tyres — two good used 14" and 15" in the rack, puncture kit and a proper torque wrench.
- Jump pack & leads — 12V booster that starts a diesel Hilux without a donor car.
- Jack, stands, ramps — we never work under a car held up by a jack alone.
